The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, announces a selection procedure for the position of Assistan Professor at the Department of Public and Social Policy, Institute of Sociological Studies.

Job Description:

• Teaching in the field of social policy at the bachelor's and master's levels in both Czech and English
• Teaching methodological courses focused on qualitative (and possibly quantitative) research methods
• Participation in research, publication, and grant activities in the area of social policy
• Involvement in the development of study programs and innovation in teaching
• Participation in departmental operations and joint academic activities
• Supervision of students and reviewing of qualification theses

Requirements:

• •University degree in public and social policy or a related field
• Academic title of at least Ph.D.
• Specialization in social policy
• Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods (knowledge of quantitative methods is an advantage)
• Publication activity in the field, ideally focused on issues related to socially vulnerable groups (not mandatory)
• Familiarity with practical aspects of social policy in the Czech Republic
• Ability to apply innovative teaching methods
• Excellent command of Czech and English, both spoken and written
• Teaching experience is an advantage
• Experience in teaching in English is an advantage
• Readiness to soon initiate the habilitation process is an advantage
