The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, announces a selection procedure for the position of Head of the Department of Security Studies at the Institute of Political Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University.

Job description:
• creative application of research results in teaching activities
• supervision of doctoral students
• delivering specialized lectures and seminars
• participation in academic committees
• reviewing doctoral and habilitation theses
• expert activities at both national and international levels

Requirements:
• academic or scientific title (Associate Professor, Ph.D., or equivalent in the field or higher)
• teaching and research experience in the relevant field, with appropriate publication and creative record
• experience in leading a professional team
• excellent command of English, both spoken and written

We offer:
• full-time position (1.0 FTE, i.e. 40 hours/week)
• expected start date: 1 February 2026
