What to do in case of a security incident

  • Act alone! If the incident is serious, do not hesitate to call 158 immediately.
  • You must get out of harm's way. Always try to get to a safe area.
  • Evaluate your evacuation route. The place to which you evacuate must be safer than the place you are evacuating from. Ask yourself: Is it safer inside or outside?
  • Don't think of hypothetical scenarios that may paralyze you. React to what you actually see and feel.
  • Remember the basic rule in an explosion: "A wall is good, glass is bad." In the event of an explosion, take cover behind a solid object, not near glass surfaces.
  • Warn others around you. Say what you are doing out loud to keep others informed and to encourage them to react correctly.

Verbal Aggression

  • Try to calm the situation.
  • Reassure the person that you want to understand. Do not interrupt and listen to the person.
  • If the situation escalates, set firm boundaries.
  • If the aggressor continues to cross the boundaries, end the conversation, summon security or call the Police of the Czech Republic – tel.no. 158.

  • Leave the building by the shortest escape route. Do not use elevators.
  • If smoke is in the air, stay low and cover your mouth.
  • Evacuate as far away from the building as possible. Assembly areas are not always safe.

Active Attacker
