FSV UK offers some of the highest quality English language Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degree programs in Central and Eastern Europe in all fields of social sciences, giving students an opportunity to obtain their degree from one of the oldest, largest and most prestigious universities in the world.

Research

FSV UK fully supports the socio-scientific research. The Faculty integrates and co-ordinates the research plan it has acquired with several departments of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Within this framework, FSV UK has made a commitment to provide the professional public with a critical and scientifically-based reflection on the development of Czech society from a long-term perspective.

Life at Faculty

Student life is not only studying at a library or your dorm and attending lectures and seminars! There is a whole bunch of stuff students do together in their free time - social, cultural, political or sport events, trips, parties...and much more! There is nothing easier than just join and enjoy the life at FSV UK!

Applications are now open for the CENTRAL Leadership program, which will take place from 30 August to 20 September 2026.

The program is intended for Master's and doctoral students interested in politics, history and culture. It offers an inspiring journey through five European capitals and their regions.

As part of this unique initiative, 30 students from five universities associated with the CENTRAL Network, from the Ivan Franko University in Lviv in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Catholic University and the Hungarian Andrássy University, will travel to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Berlin and Warsaw. Participants will be provided with comprehensive support covering all costs associated with participation in the program.

Charles University is currently looking for five suitable candidates to participate in the program. Applications can be submitted until 31 March 2026.
