Join us on Tuesday 8 November at 9:30 a.m. at the Kaple at Voršilská 1 for the lecture Struggle for Ukraine: Europe at the Crossroads by Bruno Maçães, a widely recognized author and consultant in geopolitics and business.
He served as Portuguese minister for European affairs in term 2013-2015. His term overlapped with some key moments in recent European history: the Eurozone crisis, the Russian annexation of Crimea, and the beginning of Brexit.
Currently, he is affiliated with the Hudson Institute, Martens Centre and works as a consultant for Flint Global in London. He holds a Ph.D. from Harvard, where he wrote his dissertation under political philosopher Harvey Mansfield.
Bruno has published in well-respected outlets like Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, National Review, Politico, and Guardian.
He has also published several books (Belt and Road: A Chinese World Order - 2018, History Has Begun: The Birth of a New America 2020, Geopolitics for the End Time 2021). His book The Dawn of Eurasia: On the Trail of the New World Order (2018) received outstanding reviews, including the international Ranald MacDonald Award.
