The majority of the central administration offices is to be found in the Hollar building, Smetanovo nábřeží 6, 110 01 Praha 1. The Project Support and Investment Office is located at Voršilská 1, 110 00 Praha 1.

Statement by the Dean of FSV UK on the Sentencing of PhD Student Bahruz Samadov
We are following with deep concern the developments in the case of Bahruz Samadov, a PhD student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, who, according to available information, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Baku, Azerbaijan, on June 20, 2025, for alleged treason. We are convinced that the charges are politically motivated, and therefore we strongly condemn the sentence. -
Charles University successfully defends prestigious HR Award
Charles University has – as the first university in the Czech Republic – successfully defended the prestigious HR Excellence in Research Award (HR Award), granted by the European Commission. -

Zuzana Havránková and Dino Numerato were appointed professors
On June 16, 2025, the following new professors were appointed at FSV UK: Prof. PhDr. Zuzana Havránková, Ph.D. (IES FSV UK) in the field of Economic Theory and Prof. PhDr. Dino Numerato, Ph.D. (ISS FSV UK) in the field of Sociology. They received the appointment decrees from President Petr Pavel and Mikuláš Bek, Minister of Education. -

Maria Alina Asavei, a researcher at the Institute of International Studies at FSV UK, has never shied away from complexity. With academic roots in Romania, scholarly development in Budapest and New York, and teaching experiences across Europe and the Middle East, her career is defined by a pursuit of neglected or “marginal” topics – those lying at the intersection of art, politics, religion, and memory. -
