Erasmus+ Traineeship at the International Office

The International Office of the CU Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for an intern to support the International Office team in their day-to-day tasks. You will become a solid member of our friendly team!

Basic info and requirements
financial compensation: non-paid internship; the student-intern is funded by their home university under the Erasmus+ programme (Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship) work hours: ca. 25 hours a week (5 hours/day), Monday to Friday
(possibility of 1 day of home office a week)language proficiency: English B2-C1 CEFR experience: previous Erasmus+ experience is a plus;
volunteering at a student organisation or experience with international students is welcomed -
About the role
- assisting the International Office during the peak time of the exchange onboarding period
- assist at the online meetings with our international exchange students
- supporting the IO in organising Welcome Week for international exchange students
- preparing necessary documents (printing, copying, proof-reading...)
- assisting students with their problems or questions (the IO team will always be ready to help)
- taking part in organising special non-educational events for international exchange students
- admin of WhatsApp community
- assisting in preparing various Google forms, leaflets, guides, and other digital materials
- ad hoc activities
- assisting the International Office during the peak time of the exchange onboarding period

We are looking for someone who is
- a team player, outgoing and determined
- responsible and has loyal attitude towards the project
- able to organise work and prioritise tasks
- curious and ready to learn quickly
- familiar with or has working knowledge of: Microsoft Office, Canva, Google documents, WhatsApp
- not afraid to help the IO team when needed (collection parcels, preparing welcome packages, scanning, copying, proofreading, etc.)

The CU Faculty of Social Sciences (FSV UK) has five institutes related to the study fields offered by our faculty: economics, sociology, political science, international relations, area studies, media studies and journalism.

How to find a position
Send your updated CV and motivation letter (describing expectations and interests) to a suitable academic coordinator at one of the institutes (contacts below), and cc incoming@fsv.cuni.cz on the email.
a) If there is no available position for you at the moment, we recommend checking the general Erasmus+ Internship Website.
b) If they find a suitable position and supervisor for you, you will agree on the dates and content of your mobility and they will issue the Invitation Letter for you with the dates mentioned there.

How to apply: application documents
- Send the Invitation Letter and contact information for your home university coordinator to Barbora Stará at incoming@fsv.cuni.cz – your home university will have to officially nominate you for the Erasmus+ exchange.
- Fill in the CU Online Application form with your personal details. In the study plan section, the first line must include “Traineeship at [name of institute]”, the second line must include “supervisor: [their name]”. Once you download it, page 3 should look like this:
Do not forget to download it from the website so you can sign it on page 3 and have it signed and stamped by your home university there as well.
- If your home university provides you with a Learning Agreement (LA) template, please fill it in in cooperation with your supervisor. Sign it, have it signed by your home university.
- Send the following application documents to incoming@fsv.cuni.cz:
- CU Online Application, signed by you and your home university
- your LA, signed and stamped by your home university
- confirmation of English proficiency (B2 or higher, either an official certificate or an official document issued by home university)
- We will process the documents, sign them, and confirm your acceptance.
ACCOMMODATION: You can apply for the CU Dormitories in the CU Online Application form. More details about the accommodation can be found here or on the CU website.
- Send the Invitation Letter and contact information for your home university coordinator to Barbora Stará at incoming@fsv.cuni.cz – your home university will have to officially nominate you for the Erasmus+ exchange.

Upon arrival at FSV UK
In the week before the start of your traineeship, the Erasmus+ coordinator will contact you to make an arrival appointment with you at our International Office.
During this appointment, we will sign your CU Confirmation of Arrival and any arrival documents provided by your home university, and we will instruct you on how to have your CU student card issued, whether the student public transportation discount applies to you as well, and we will answer any question you may have.

Before departure from FSV UK
In the last weeks of your traineeship, the Erasmus+ coordinator will contact you to make a departure appointment with you at our International Office.
During this appointment, we will sign your CU Confirmation of Departure and any departure documents provided by your home university.
