CEEPUS

CEEPUS (Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies) is a similar programme to ERASMUS+, but connecting countries mainly of Central and Eastern Europe and Balkans and focussing on regional cooperation within the networks of participating universities. Study and research mobilities take place in so-called thematic networks with specific partners or it is also possible to apply for individual mobility (the freemover format) to any university participating in the CEEPUS programme. Financial support is provided by the National CEEPUS Office (NCO) of host countries.

The programme has its own platformwww.ceepus.infoThe submission of the application and other documents during and after the mobility is handled entirely via the platform. A very useful source of information mapping the application process and other obligations can be found at FAQ on the official platform.

For more detailed information regarding the conditions of mobilities contact CEEPUS National Office (NCO) of your home county/home university(The contact details of every NCO can be found on the Official platform of CEEPUS programme.)

The National CEEPUS Office of the Czech Republic is operated by the Centre for International Cooperation in Education (DZS), there you can also find some useful information for CEEPUS applicants.

Conditions valid for students of all study cycles:

  • Students must be enrolled in a full-time study program (Bachelor, Master or PhD.).
  • It is not possible to apply for a scholarship to the student’s country of citizenship.
  • The student must be a citizen of a CEEPUS member country or have an Equal Status (a residence permit in a CEEPUS member country).
  • No age restrictions.   

Students of Bachelor or Master programs:

  • must have completed 2 semesters of a full-time study.
  • minimal duration: 3 months.
  • maximum duration: 10 months.
  • for shorter periods than 3 months, the reason must be specified at the field Motivation.  

Students of Doctoral programs:

  • minimal duration: 21 days.
  • maximum duration: 2 months (but the reserach stay can be repeated)

Scholarship assignment: 

  • The scholarship is funded by the hosting university.
  • The scholarship amount of the grant is different for each member country. The monthly amount for the Czech Republic is:
Bachelor-level and Master-level students

14 000,00 CZK

Doctoral-level students

15 000,00 CZK

  • The sending university can refund the travel expenses for the scholarship. For information please contact the National CEEPUS office or the CEEPUS contact person at your university.

MOBILITY WITHIN THEMATIC NETWORKS

The Institute of Economic Studies FSV UK is a member of the network CIII-AT-0050-15-1920 / CIII-AT-0050-16-2021 Education Without Frontiers.

We welcome students and academics from the following universities:

If you are interested in a study stay at FSV UK within the network Education without frontiers, kindly send your CV, motivation letter, study plan (see information below) and transcript of records before the end of May for mobilities in the winter semester or before October 10th for the summer semester to the emails: incoming@fsv.cuni.cz or lenka.stastna@fsv.cuni.cz 

If FSV UK will preliminarily accept you, you will register on the official CEEPUS website www.ceepus.info and submit the application online within the following deadlines:

  • 15 June for stays in the winter semester
  • 31 October for stays in the summer semester

FREEMOVER MOBILITY

If your faculty is not involved in our CEEPUS network, you can enjoy a study stay at FSV UK as a CEEPUS freemover. If your application is successful, you will enjoy the same conditions as applicants within the network. 

Application Process:

1. Contacting the host institution (FSV UK)

If you wish to study at FSV UK as a CEEPUS exchange student, please send us your CV, motivation letter, your transcript of records and your study plan (see instructions below) at the email address inbound@fsv.cuni.cz. 

2. Receiving the preliminary Letter of Acceptance and registration at the CEEPUS webpage

If the FSV UK Institute agrees with your acceptance, we will send you a Letter of Acceptance. At this moment you can register at the official CEEPUS webpage www.ceepus.info and apply for your scholarship online. Together with the Letter of Acceptance you will submit also two Letters of Recommendation from your home university.

3. Submitting the application for the CEEPUS scholarship

After the scholarship has been awarded, you will receive a Letter of Award, along with other information and instructions you need to follow.

Deadlines for the application

  • Mobility in the Summer Semester 2024/2025: deadline November 30, 2024
  • Mobility in the Winter Semester 2025/2026: the applications can be submitted from May 1, 2025. Howeverfreemover mobilities are less supported in the Winter Semester so it is highly recommended to inquire that at the host country (contact us or the Czech CEEPUS National office)

HOW TO CREATE A STUDY PLAN

The recommended modification of the search is as follows: 

Academic year: on the top menu - adjust via Setup

Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences

Class: Courses for incoming students

Semester: Winter term (September - February), Summer term (February - June) or both

Language: English

If you wish to modify further by the Institutes of the Faculty, choose the option School (not Departments): 1. Institute of Sociological Studies, 2. Institute of Economic Studies, 3. Institute of Political Studies, 4. Institute of International Studies, 5. Institute of Communication and Journalism

It is also possible to search for courses at the other faculties of Charles University. Students are required to enroll in courses in a total of 36 ECTS (no more) per semester, and at least half of them must be at the Institute related to their study program. 

Please be aware that the offer of courses may change at the beginning and/or throughout the academic year due to limited capacity or unexpected events. In addition, always check the course description for any language or other entry requirements.

Once you choose the courses that you would like to attend, please send a list of them (with their course code) to to email inbound@fsv.cuni.cz.
