Announcement of the loss of Jan Kohoutek

It is with profound sadness that the Faculty administration shares the news of the passing of doc. Jan Kohoutek, Ph.D., scientist and teacher at the Institute of Sociological Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. Jan Kohoutek's professional career was guided by his interest in public administration, tertiary education and education policy in general. He gained recognition primarily through his study of politicization in public administration. With his work, he made a significant contribution to the development of the theory of public policy making, especially in the area of so-called policy work.

Jan Kohoutek is also remembered by his colleague, the vice-dean of FSV UK, prof. Arnošt Veselý: "I first met Honza almost 20 years ago, when he joined our doctoral program and I became his supervisor. At first glance, his hard work and curiosity were obvious. This was manifested, among other things, in the huge number of sources that he was able to read. Thanks to this, his work had an international level and reach. It is no coincidence that he has published in a number of excellent journals, on several completely different topics. I will greatly miss not only his theoretical knowledge, but above all his friendship, fairness, insight and unique humor."

Our sincere condolences to the bereaved.
