Roundtable and Climathon at FSV UK
Roundtable and Climathon at FSV UK
The Faculty Sustainability Working Group cordially invites students and staff to two events focused on sustainability (not only) at FSV UK.
Roundtable: FSV UK in the green mirror
What does sustainability look like at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University – and where could it go next? We invite everyone who is involved in the topic at various levels (teaching, research, communication, student initiatives, operations, etc.) to join an open discussion about what works, what to focus on, and what joint projects could be created at FSV UK.
The roundtable will take place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Hollar building, room H212.
The goal of the roundtable:
- to connect participants across the faculty who have something to say about sustainability,
- to identify existing synergies and so-called sore points,
- to jointly formulate visions and specific steps that could be implemented in the short, medium or long term.
The discussion will be facilitated to create a space for sharing experiences, ideas and critical points of view. The outputs will serve as a basis for further development of sustainability at FSV UK – including possible interdisciplinary collaborations, student support and strategic planning.
The roundtable discussion will be followed by the Climathon at FSV UK event.
FSV UK Climathon
A meeting of students of FSV UK who believe that our faculty should also be a place where change towards a more sustainable future takes place. In a time of ongoing climate crisis, and at the same time, the public's shift away from green politics, we will jointly explore how to make FSV UK a place that does not lag behind, but on the contrary actively promotes sustainable measures and inspires students, other public institutions and communities in its vicinity.
What can you expect?
The first Climathon at FSV UK will take place in the Hollar building on November 19, 2025 from 6:30 pm and will continue until late at night. We will meet in room H212. Those interested can continue until the morning of November 20, 2025.
During the workshop, teams can use the support of a facilitator and consult their ideas with an expert in greening public institutions. On Thursday, November 20th from 9:00, the projects will then be presented to the Dean of the faculty. It is up to you whether you stay until midnight, or sleep on site. Experience the faculty at night, and come and influence how the faculty will respond to the greatest challenge of today's world. Bring your own ideas, a mug and a sleeping bag, everything else will be provided.
Registration:
Registration for the Climathon is possible until Thursday, November 13th, 2025 here.
