FSV UK raised the Tibetan flag as a symbol of solidarity on Hollar building
The Faculty of Social Sciences raised the flag of Tibet as a symbol of solidarity. As usual, the Faculty of Social Sciences joined the international campaign Flag for Tibet by displaying the Tibetan flag on the Hollar building.
The international "Flag for Tibet" campaign was set up in Western Europe in the mid-1990s and became one of the most important symbolic events in support of Tibet. The campaign aims to highlight long-term human rights violations in Tibet. The event takes place every year on March 10, the day of the annual Tibetan uprising against the Chinese occupation of Tibet. More than 80,000 Tibetans died in the 1959 uprising, hundreds of thousands of Tibetans died in prisons, labor camps, or famine in the following years. This year marks the 61st anniversary of the Tibetan uprising.
