Announcement of the election
At its meeting on 20 May 2025, the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University announced the election of a candidate for the office of Dean on the basis of the Rules of Procedure of the AS FSV UK, Articles 13 and 14. The Dean is appointed to the position by the Rector of the Charles University.
The Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, is the second youngest faculty of Charles University. In the course of its existence, it has become a leading education and research facility with both domestic and international renown. The mission of the Dean to-be will be to use the faculty’s potential and to ensure its dynamic development.
The election will take place at the meeting of the AS FSV UK on 7 October 2025 at 15:00 in room H212.

At its meeting on 21 May 2025, the Election Commission announced the following schedule:
- Deadline for submission of proposals for candidates: from 21 August 2025 to 21 September 2025.
- Presentation of candidates to the academic community: 30 September 2025 at 15:00 (H212 + online)
- Election of the candidate for Dean: Ordinary meeting of the Academic Senate of FSV UK: 7 October 2025 at 15:00 (H212)
- Deadline for new proposals in case of unsuccessful election: 14 October 2025
- Second election in case of unsuccessful election: at an extraordinary meeting of the Academic Senate of FSV UK on 21 October 2025 at 15:00 (H212)
Submitting nominations for candidates
From 21 August 2025 to 21 September 2025, any member of the academic community of FSV UK may submit a nomination proposal in writing to the Chair of the Election Committee at the address below and also electronically to the e-mail address martin.stoll@fsv.cuni.cz.
Necessary annexes to the proposal are:
- written consent of the proposed applicant(s)
- a structured CV including contact details
- a concept for the development of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University in the recommended maximum of 10 standard pages, which will include, in addition to the main objectives of development and ways of achieving them, an idea of the composition of the Dean's/Dean's College
- in the case of candidates born before 1 December 1971, a valid lustration certificate
- the written and signed version of the proposal and annexes will be considered binding.
