Funding your stay at our Faculty

There is a wide range of scholarships and funding schemes to support your mobility.

International Visegrad Fund

With the Visegrad Scholarship Programme you can finance 1 to 2 semesters at our Faculty at the Master and post-Master / Ph.D. levels.

All appli­cants for the scholarship support should have either com­pleted a bachelor’s degree pro­gram or—if their current study pro­gram is not divided into dis­tinct bachelor’s and master’s levels—should have completed at least 3 years (6 semesters) of higher-education when start­ing the schol­ar­ship.

The scholarship grants 3000 EUR/semester for the student + 1,500 EUR/semester for the host institution.

The deadline for the electronic submission of the application is noon 15 April every year.

In order to apply for the scholarship you need to get accepted at our Faculty. How to get accepted?

MA students: Send the following documents to inbound@fsv.cuni.cz:

  • CV 
  • Motivation Letter 
  • Transcript of Records
  • Copy of your passport/ID
  • Study plan
  • Proof of your English proficiency
  • Diploma (optional)

Post-master / Ph.D. /post-doc applicants:

  1. Find a supervisor at one of our Institutes’ websites. We also recommend to consider the Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Arts, if their fields of research might better fit your needs.
  2. Send the following documents to inbound@fsv.cuni.cz:

The International Visegrad Fund announces the results around 31 May. If you are awarded the scholarship, please inform the International Office at inbound@fsv.cuni.cz.

Fulbright Commission

Fulbright Full Grants for U.S. Students

The selection procedure for the Fulbright Program for U.S. students is administered by the Institute of International Education. U.S. candidates should apply through this organization.

Fulbright Grants for Scholars and Researchers

The Core Fulbright Program grants are awarded for lecturing or projects combining lecturing and research for one semester (3 months) or for one academic year (9 months). Research projects are awarded from minimum 3 months to 9 months (one academic year).

In the academic year 2021/2022 a post-doc category was introduced.

Barrande Fellowship Programme for Ph.D. students

The Barrande Fellowship Programme supports Ph.D. students registered at French universities with a monthly stipend of 35,000 CZK to pursue in the Czech Republic:

  1. short research stays for 1 to 3 months
  2. 5-month stays every year for a maximum of 3 years within the double degree Ph.D. scheme under joint supervision (cotutelle de thèse

In order to pursue a research stay at our Faculty you need to find a supervisor at one of our Institutes. We strongly recommend to consider also the Faculty of Humanities and Faculty of Arts, because their specializations sometimes fit better our applicants´ needs.
