Are you our international student or recent graduate? Join us for FSV UK Career Day on 10 April 2024 in Jinonice Campus! You can look forward to a CV workshop, a Czech labour law lecture, 2 companies recruiting, career counseling or a photographer who can take a professional photo for your CV. Some parts of the program require registration.

The aim of this lecture is to familiarize students with the basic principles of preparing a high-quality curriculum vitae. However, the CV is not the only document you send together with your application. Oftentimes, you are also required to send a cover letter or a letter of recommendation. The lecture will also include strategies of relating your CV to these other documents.
Czech labour law lecture

The lecture will focus generally on the issue of work permits in Czechia, the difference between employment and business, and what types of contracts can be concluded in Czechia. We will also go through the general obligations of foreigners in Czechia and what opportunities Czech law offers for graduates. The lecture will be conducted by attorney Mgr. Hana Křenková, who focuses on legal assistance to foreigners in Czechia and on simplifying communication with Czech authorities.

Are you wondering if a CV is better with or without a photo? Do you need a suitable LinkedIn photo? A photo on a CV can feel more personal, but vacation photos are definitely not suitable. The appropriate photo format is the one you have in your ID card or passport: it captures your face against a one-colour background.
It is not easy to take such a photo yourself. We will have a photographer on our career day so you can get a professional photo for your CV!

Giulia Bellabarba: International Relations - MAIN
I did an internship at the humanitarian aid and development cooperation department of Caritas Czech Republic. Inside that organization, I worked with the communication team, writing and editing articles for the website. I also took care of the social media's pages of Caritas. Furthermore, I organized and took part in events for raising awareness and funds.
Roy Melki: Economics and Finance - BEF: I work as a quality specialists monitor and report quality metrics, dive deep and identify trends/root causes, where we create quality audits for processes that support stakeholders in efforts to drive a defect free hiring experience for all associates. Additionally, we have to ensure that reviews are completed within the given timeframe, and expected changes should be done within this timeline as well. This helps us in identifying opportunities to setup new audit mechanics to address process gaps, where we have to also ensure new processes are successfully scoped and rolled out with appropriate documentation.
Nico Mastrangelo: Politics, Philosophy and Economics - PPE I am currently employed as a Project Coordinator for the Economic & Financial Statecraft Program at the Prague Security Studies Institute. In my current role, I help conduct research into the intersection of capital markets, foreign investment, and Western security priorities. Prior to this, I have held roles spanning from technical theater to teaching, and have brushed arms with the communications industry. In my current role, I am glad to be able to draw from nearly all of my past experiences to help tackle the problem thrown the team’s way.
The event is organized in cooperation with European Horizons at Charles University.
Karlovian student club
The members of the Karlovian are going to introduce the club to the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The Karlovian is an online media platform managed by PPE students and dedicated to hosting student-written content, mainly in the form of articles accompanied by photos and videos. Our area of interest is not limited to Politics, Philosophy or Economics, though we publish a lot of engaging articles on these topics, but it also includes culture, both local and foreign, and student life.
