On June 21, the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel handed over the appointment decrees to the 87 professors present in the Great Hall of Carolinum. A total of 91 professors were appointed effective May 18, 2023, and two professors effective June 6, 2023. Thirty newly appointed professors come from Charles University. With his presence, the President renewed the tradition when, as the highest constitutional official, he not only appoints new professors on the proposal of the scientific and artistic councils of universities, but also personally participates in the handover ceremony.
