The opening hours of the FSV UK libraries and study rooms will be extended in September. An overview of the new opening hours can be found in this news.

Applicants from developing countries may apply for a Czech Government Scholarship - Developing Countries that fully covers tuition fees of selected Master’s study programs and provides subsidies for health insurance and living expenses in Czechia. For studies beginning in the academic year 2026/2027, the application deadline is September 30, 2025.

During August, the Jinonice Library will be open two days a week, specifically every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You can also study at the Opletalova Library, which will be open every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Outside the libraries’ opening hours, study rooms will continue to be available.

On June 16, 2025, the following new professors were appointed at FSV UK: Prof. PhDr. Zuzana Havránková, Ph.D. (IES FSV UK) in the field of Economic Theory and Prof. PhDr. Dino Numerato, Ph.D. (ISS FSV UK) in the field of Sociology. They received the appointment decrees from President Petr Pavel and Mikuláš Bek, Minister of Education.

The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University announced the election of a candidate for the office of Dean. The election will take place at the meeting of the AS FSV UK on 7 October 2025. From 21 August 2025 to 21 September 2025, any member of the academic community of FSV UK may submit a nomination proposal.

We ask students to fill in the teaching evaluation for the summer semester 2024/2025. On the basis of teaching evaluations, the best courses are awarded (so-called "Golden Courses"), and the evaluations are also used by the management of departments and institutes as a basis for teacher evaluations. The evaluation questionnaire is available until 29 June 2025.
