We are pleased to announce the results of the 27th public competition for Josef Vavroušek Award. The authors of thirty-four works from seven universities participated in the competition.

Authors of the awarded theses

Bachelor's theses:

Honorable mention went to POLŤÁKOVÁ Lucia (University of Trnava) for the thesis: Bio coal as a tool for mitigating the effects of climate change.
Third place went to KLIMO Pavola (Mendel University) for the thesis: Net balance of production gains and respiration losses of the forest ecosystem.
Second place went to KULICH Adam (Charles University) for the thesis: Monitoring of bog vegetation in the Giant Mountains using remote sensing.
First place went to POKORNÁ Adéla (Masaryk University) for the thesis: Forest defenders in Romania: Challenges, obstacles, and threats.

Master's theses:

The third place went to a pair of competitors:
M.Sc. BOYACI Çatagay (Charles University) for the thesis: An examination of household energy conservation behavior in the framework of theory of planned behavior and norm activation model: Prague case.
M.Sc. KŘOVÁK Jan (Charles University) for the thesis: Populism as a discursive strategy: an analysis of the communication of selected populist actors on the Czech political scene.
The second place went to Mgr. et Mgr. KŘÍŽKOVÁ Alžběta (Charles University) for the thesis: Marginal abatement costs of greenhouse gas emissions: A meta-analysis.
The first place went to Mgr. et Mgr. PRÁŠILOVÁ Tereza (Charles University) for the thesis: Securitization of drought in the Czech Republic.

Dissertations:

The first place went to JUDr. Jiří VODIČKA, Ph.D. (Masaryk University) for the dissertation: Automobiles as sources of pollutants and greenhouse gases in the light of legislation.
 

The diplomas will be presented to the award-winning competitors on the occasion of the ceremonial meeting of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University on Wednesday, 16 November 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Karolinum.
