Statement by the Dean of FSV UK on the Sentencing of PhD Student Bahruz Samadov
We are following with deep concern the developments in the case of Bahruz Samadov, a PhD student at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, who, according to available information, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in Baku, Azerbaijan, on June 20, 2025, for alleged treason. We are convinced that the charges are politically motivated, and therefore we strongly condemn the sentence. -

FSV UK Dean announces the 30th Josef Vavroušek Award
The Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University announces the 30th public competition for Josef Vavroušek Award, subtitled Human Values and Civilization Development Problems. Competition will include Bachelor‘s, Master‘s, Rigorosum and Dissertation theses defended in the current and in the previous academic year. The deadline for application is 25 July 2025. -

Erasmus+ short-term PhD mobility
Prostřednictvím programu Erasmus+ mohou doktorandi uskutečňovat krátkodobé fyzické mobility za účelem studia či stáže v zahraničí. Na mobility je možné vyjíždět i během letních měsíců. O stipendium je nutné žádat nejméně měsíc před plánovaným výjezdem.
