Why FSV UK
FSV UK is one of the youngest and most dynamic faculties of Charles University. It consists of five institutes focused on key social science fields: economics, communication studies, international studies, sociology and political science. Together, we create a top scientific workplace with international reach - a large number of international projects testify to this. We have the highest number of English-taught study programmes, including joint and double degrees, and the highest student mobility of the entire university. Thanks to this, you can see all corners of the world and participate in various projects during your studies. We cooperate with the state and private sectors and non-profit organizations, which will allow you to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
We are located in three buildings - in the new campus in Jinonice and in the city center on Opletalova street and on Smetananovo nábřeží. In the multifunctional Jinonice Library, in addition to a wide collection of books and services, you will also be able to use individual, team and night study rooms. In the library's relaxation area, you will be able to relax between lectures or play board games with your classmates.
Application deadlines
Preliminary deadline: 30 June 2025
Extended deadline: 31 August 2025
Important note for visa-seeking students: Please read about the visa process carefully before applying. You are responsible for organizing your legal stay in Czechia and the visa application process can get quite lengthy. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to obtain the visa in time because the June and August deadlines are fairly close to the start of the academic year on September 29, 2025. The extended deadlines are therefore strongly recommended to students who already possess the legal right to long-term stay in Czechia.
