FSV UK Circle international student society received the extraordinary scholarship of Prof. Miroslav Vlček for 2024
FSV UK Circle student society, namely Vendela Alexandra Enocson, Tim Lennart Dalhofer and Lara lsabell Fuge received the extraordinary scholarship of Prof. Miroslav Vlček for 2024. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Residence of the Mayor of Prague. -
Activation of turnstiles at Hollar after the completion of the main phase of renovation work
Due to the completion of the main phase of the Ph.D. infra project renovation work, the turnstiles at the entrance to the Hollar building will be activated again starting from 2 December 2024. We would like to remind you that to enter Hollar, as well as the Jinonice Campus, you need to use your student or employee card. -

The results of elections to the Academic Senate of Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, and Academic Senate of Charles University have been published. The elections took place from 26 November 2024, 9:00 am, to 28 November 2024, 9:00 am. -
Irena Kalhousová received the Karel Kramář medal from Prime Minister Petr Fiala
On the occasion of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day, Prime Minister Petr Fiala awarded the Karel Kramář medal to Irena Kalhousová, an expert at the Institute of Political Studies FSV UK and director of the Herzl Center for Israel Studies. She received the award for her outstanding contribution to the public debate on Middle East issues. This year, this award went to a total of 17 personalities. -
Presentation of FSV UK commemorative medals and Josef Vavroušek Award
On the occasion of the ceremonial meeting of the FSV UK Scientific Council, the annual presentation of commemorative medals for services to the development of the faculty and for long-term work for the faculty took place. FSV UK Dean Tomáš Karásek also presented awards to the authors of the works selected for Josef Vavroušek Award 2024. -
Statement of Tomáš Karásek, Dean of FSV UK, on the anniversary of November 17
"Two years ago, on the occasion of the anniversary on November 17, I highlighted the role of the academic community in facing the social, political, environmental and security challenges encountered by Czech society and by the broader circle of civilization to which we belong. Viewed from a distance, the severity of these challenges unfortunately has not diminished, quite the contrary," says the Dean Tomáš Karásek on the anniversary of November 17, 1989.
