AI can significantly contribute to the quality of teaching and the further development of academic work. However, there is also a need to clearly communicate the principles and limitations that arise from the use of AI technology for academic work. All related issues and potential risks – legislative, ethical, security and other – need to be carefully considered.

On April 11, from 7:00 p.m., there will be a screening of the documentary film Kuciak: The Killing of a Journalist at Hollar in room no. 215 (with English subtitles). The award-winning documentary deals in detail not only with the murder of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová, but also with the consequences of this dramatic event, which caused the biggest protests in Slovakia since the fall of communism.

4EU+ launches two funding calls to expand interuniversity cooperation - the SEED4EU+ and 4EU+ Visiting Professorships initiatives. The deadline to submit proposals for both pilot calls is 1 June 2023.

Charles University and the University of St Andrews have established a joint seed funding scheme with the goal of facilitating cooperation. The funding shall enable academic staff from all disciplines to identify complementary strengths, explore areas of synergy, and develop outstanding future projects in research and academic innovation. The deadline for applications is 5 May 2023, 6:00 p.m.

On February 1, 2023, the Centre for the Care for the Soul of Charles University was established. In this way, they want to supplement the services offered so far with broadly conceived spiritual care. The center is non-denominational and inter-religious.

The catastrophic earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey on February 6th also affects our students from these countries. We think of them and try to help as much as we can: students who find themselves in a difficult situation as a result of the catastrophe can apply for the bursary for students in acute difficulties or faculty scholarships.
